If you are subscribed to a Pro or Enterprise plan, then Executives and Administrators can deactivate up to 20 Pulse Survey questions. This is helpful if some of the 122 questions in the Pulse Survey aren't relevant to your organization's culture or context. Deactivated questions will not appear in any Pulse Surveys moving forward, but historical data from Pulse Surveys containing those questions will be preserved.
Note: All Administrators and Executives will receive a notification through email, Slack, or Teams (depending on their preferred method of notification) when a question has been deactivated or reactivated.
Caution: Deactivating questions will impact your scores and reports. See below for details.
How to deactivate Pulse Survey questions
- Go to Settings .
- Select Officevibe from the lefthand menu.
- Click Surveys.
- Click the Manage questions button. You'll see the list of all Pulse Survey questions.
- Find the question you want to deactivate and click the toggle switch.
- You can use the search bar and/or metric filters to help you find the question you're looking for.
- Confirm your decision in modal that appears. The question will then be deactivated immediately and no longer be sent to employees.
Note: You can reactivate questions at any time by following the same procedure.
Impact of deactivating questions
When questions are deactivated, your organization's engagement scores and metrics will be impacted. You'll also see some visual changes to your reports.
Impact on scores
Scores will start to be impacted by deactivated questions as time goes on because scores are calculated using a 90-day rolling average.
For example, if a now-deactivated question had a much lower score than others, it will start to artificially increase your related sub-metric, metric, and overall engagement score as its responses get pushed out of the 90-day window. This means that comparison with the industry benchmark may no longer be accurate, as the industry benchmark considers all questions.
Impact on reports
Here's how your reports will be affected:
Report | Type of impact | Visual indication |
Pulse Survey | Overall engagement score and metric scores that contain deactivated questions are affected. | Blue message banner under the graph (visible to Executives only) |
eNPS | If the eNPS question is deactivated, the entire report is paused. | Blue message banner at the top of the page (visible to Executives only), and greyed-out graphs |
Metric Breakdown | Metric and sub-metric scores containing deactivated questions are affected. | Blue message banner under the graph of each affected metric (visible to Executives only) |
Question Results | Result percentages of deactivated questions stop appearing after 90 days of being inactive. | "Inactive" tag shown next to deactivated questions immediately, and their graphs greyed out after 90 days |
Pulse Overview | Benchmark scores for metrics containing deactivated questions are not shown and your affected metrics will not contribute to our industry benchmark calculations. | Blue message banner at the top of the page (visible to Executives only), and blank grey cells in the benchmark for affected scores. |
