Integrations with Slack - Workleap only

To facilitate your account setup, we have created provisioning and Single sign-on (SSO) Integrations that allow you to manage part of your Workleap account through Slack.

With Slack integration, you can:

  • Add & Remove members.
  • Synchronize your Slack and Workleap members daily.
  • Map your Slack channels to Workleap teams.
  • Set up SSO for easy login.

Only a Slack and Workleap Admin can set up integrations.

Set up provisioning with Slack

With Workleap's Slack provisioning, it's easy to add all your Slack members to Workleap.

You can conveniently map your Slack channels to Workleap teams.

A daily sync feature ensures that your organization's Slack account membership changes are also updated in Workleap.

Workleap's members and teams are used in various Workleap products like Workleap Officevibe.

1. Connect Workleap with Slack

Let's get started by connecting Slack to Workleap:

  1. Access your Workleap settings as a Workleap admin.
  2. Select Provisioning under INTEGRATIONS in the sidebar.
  3. Click Connect next to the Slack logo.
  4. Connect to Slack with your Slack admin username and password.

Once connected, your Slack account is available for provisioning and SSO integrations.

Provisioning is not activated until you configure and activate it.

If your company uses several workspaces, do not worry. You can manage multiple Slack workspaces with Workleap integrations since Slack Enterprise Grid is available.

2. Add additional Slack workspaces

You can connect multiple Slack workspaces in Workleap, which is very useful for setting up a test environment, for instance.

To add a workspace, select Add an additional Slack workspace in the Connected to Slack section.

3. Choose members to import

You can invite everyone in your Slack Workspace or select specific Slack Channels to link into Workleap.

4. Map your teams

If you create teams in Workleap, you can map them to your existing Slack channels so new members can automatically be added to the appropriate Workleap teams.

If members are removed from the mapped Slack channel, they will also be removed from the Workleap team.

To map a Slack channel to a Workleap team, find the workleap team, start typing the name of the Slack channel in the box next to it, and press enter or click on it when it appears.

To create Workleap teams, you can select Teams under TEAMS in the sidebar in your workleap settings.

Multi-Channel and Single-Channel Guests will not be synced - only regular Members.

5. Save and activate your Slack integration

When you are happy with your Slack provisioning configuration, you can save and activate it or save it only.

When you click Save and activate, the automatic daily sync is turned on and scheduled to provision your Workleap teams and members the next day.

If you do not want to wait for the scheduled sync, select Start the sync now in the box that says Your sync is pending at the top of your configurations.

You can always stop the daily sync by returning to your Slack provisioning configuration and clicking Deactivate at the top.

If you have Automatic invite turned on, invitations are sent to all the new members when you activate provisioning.

Turn on Single sign-on with Slack

Single sign-on allows your users to connect to Workleap through various accounts. This connection method offers greater security and a more straightforward way for users to sign in to workleap.

If you have not already connected Workleap with Slack for provisioning, follow these steps:

  1. Access your Workleap settings as a Workleap admin.
  2. Select SSO under INTEGRATIONS in the sidebar.
  3. Click Connect next to the Slack logo.
  4. Connect to Slack with your Slack admin username and password.

Once connected, your Slack account is available for provisioning and SSO integration.

3. Activate Sign-On

To make it possible for your users to connect to their workleap account through their Slack account, toggle on Slack on the SSO page.

You can also toggle on Enforce SSO to ensure your users only use Single sign-on to connect to their workleap account.

When Enforce SSO is turned on, your users cannot log in using a username and password or magic link.
