Performance roles, rights, and visibility

Below is a guide on roles, their rights, and who has visibility on which aspects of the Performance add-on.

Role Rights Has visibility on*
Executive Manager
  • Create/duplicate/manage all Cycles. Learn more.
  • Add/remove Cycle Owners.
  • Customize/create/edit a review template.
  • Assign Direct Managers to employees.
  • The completed Manager reviews from the Review event page for all Cycles. Access is read-only.
  • The completed Self reviews from the Review event page for all Cycles. Access is read-only.
  • Detailed reports on the progression of all Cycles and events.
Cycle Owner
  • Set up and manage the events for the Cycle they are assigned to. Learn more.
  • Customize/create/edit a review template.
  • Add another Cycle Owner on the Cycle they are assigned to.
  • Close a review event.
  • Delete a review event.
  • The completed Manager review forms from the Review event page for the Cycle they are assigned to. Access is read-only.
  • The completed Self review forms from the Review event page for the Cycle they are assigned to. Access is read-only.
  • Detailed reports on the progression of the Cycles and events they are assigned to.
Manager
  • Edit a Manager review for teams they are assigned Direct Manager of (up until the review event is closed).
  • Edit their own Self review (up until the review deadline).
  • Can be assigned as a Direct Manager to employees.
  • The Manager review and Self review forms they have been assigned to.
  • The completion status of each Self review for the Team members they are Direct Manager of.
Team member
  • Fill in their own Self review (up until the review deadline).
  • Their own Self reviews.
  • Any role, even a Team member, can be added as a Cycle Owner. It is best-practice to ensure that the right people are assigned as Cycle Owners when setting up you Performance Cycles.
  • Only Managers assigned as Direct managers can fill out Manager reviews. Team members with no assigned Direct Manager cannot participate in any cycle events.

*These elements only appear if the Cycle Owner has included them in the Performance management process.
